What is the position
As our Transport Planner, you will be responsible for carrying out the coordination, problem solving and administrative activities needed to deliver the tyres to Customers, and to Apollo Warehouses – on time, and on the possible most effective way. You also need to ensure customer satisfaction, cost effectiveness, and smooth operation in transportation and delivery services. Should any issue arises, it is important that you provide the information to internal customers, warehouse 3PLs and the carriers as soon as possible, to mitigate business risks. Last but not least, you are also in charge of creating reporting and data sharing needed for Management, for Internal Customers and for performance monitoring.
You will be based in our plant in Enschede, the Netherlands.
What are the responsibilities
(1) Planning
– Analyse orders in our system to plan deliveries taking into account the required delivery date, customer demands, operational limits and cost to serve.
– Release shipments to warehouse in due time.
– Check and approve freight invoices
– Analyse orders to (re)determine ship-from location to increase shipments to our regional distribution centre in Hungary
(2) Reporting and Communicating
– Communicate planned shipments and deliveries to Sales, Local distribution center operators and Carriers
– Reporting and EDI creation (eg: NCR’s, carrier issues, planned loadings per day)
Do you have what it takes? (requirements)
– MBO or Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain/Logistics/Business Administration
– At least 3 years of experience in transport planning
– Good knowledge of OTM, SAP SD
– High level of accuracy and reliability. Can work independently
– Strong in problem solving and teamwork
– Basic understanding about warehousing and transportation practices
– Fluent in English. Knowledge of Dutch or German language is an advantage
