At our Coevorden facility, we specialize in machining and manufacturing solutions that support both third-party customers and internal NOV operations . We are looking for a Manufacturing Machine Shop Manager to lead and integrate all machining and manufacturing operations at our Coevorden facility. Reporting to the Area Manager, this role is responsible for ensuring the efficient end-to-end operational flow from production planning and material availability through machining and delivery of products to specification and on time.

The role plays a critical part in achieving business objectives related to safety, quality, delivery, cost, growth, and people development . A strong focus will be placed on operational excellence, continuous improvement, and increasing capacity and efficiency while fostering a culture of accountability, engagement, and safety across the organization.

Business Growth & Performance

Support business development by preparing cost calculations, quotations, and customer proposals in collaboration with sales teams. Contribute to machining-related initiatives and participate in supplier and customer negotiations when needed. Monitor financial performance, including costing, margins, and productivity improvements.

Operational Leadership

Lead daily machine shop operations to ensure safe, efficient, and cost-effective production. Deliver products on time, within specification, and aligned with customer requirements. Ensure optimal utilization and maintenance of machinery and equipment.

People Leadership & Development

Lead, coach, and develop supervisors and operational teams, fostering a high-performance culture. Support workforce planning, recruitment, onboarding, and succession planning. Promote accountability, collaboration, and alignment with company values.

Continuous Improvement & KPI Management

Define and track key operational KPIs related to productivity, efficiency, and quality. Drive Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance performance and reduce downtime. Use data insights to identify improvement areas and implement corrective actions.

Quality, HSE & Compliance

Ensure compliance with quality standards (e.G., ISO 9001, API) and internal procedures. Promote a strong Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) culture. Oversee incident reporting, customer complaints, and continuous improvement of SOPs and processes.

Management & Governance

Act as an active member of the Site Management Team. Support cross-functional and corporate initiatives while upholding company standards of ethics, compliance, and professional conduct.

Essential Qualifications

  • Degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Machining, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 3–6 years of leadership experience in manufacturing or machine shop environments
  • Strong understanding of production operations, planning, and logistics
  • Solid financial acumen (budgeting, OPEX/CAPEX)
  • Strong analytical and decision-making skills
  • Fluent English communication skills

Desired Qualifications

  • Business or management-related education
  • Lean Manufacturing or Continuous Improvement certification
  • Experience in international or industrial environments
  • Additional languages (e.G., German) are a plus

Soft Skills

Strong leadership and people management capabilities, with a results-driven and strategic mindset. Ability to manage change, complexity, and ambiguity. Excellent communication, negotiation, and organizational skills, with a focus on continuous improvement.
