About the department
The laboratory consists of 18 people divided over 3 laboratories:
- Preparation laboratory
- Physical laboratory
- Chemical laboratory
The laboratory performs all testing requirements for the R&D compound
development, from standardized test to support with research related questions
where new tests need to be created.
Objective
or the assignment
The tyre industry is highly competitive and continues to advance toward
improved performance standards. Among the key performance attributes, grip is
particularly critical, driving ongoing research and development efforts.
Traditionally, evaluating grip requires full tyre construction and on-vehicle
testing. To achieve a more controlled, laboratory-based approach, reliable
friction-testing equipment is essential.
Apollo Tyres have invested in friction testing equipment that can be used
in tyre-material development. The intern will support the next phase of these
machine’s development by assisting with laboratory tests, collecting and
analysing data, and contributing to process and method improvements. This
position offers hands-on exposure to experimental testing, friction-measurement
techniques, and the practical challenges involved in assessing tyre-material
performance.
Your
tasks
- Conduct
tests on the machine as required. - Make test
samples, monitor test surface. - Document
findings during tests, create test reports. - Work and
improve on the process.
Your
profile
- Enrolled
in Bachelor, Mechanical Engineering, or comparable study with strong focus
on rubber tribology and/or friction testing methods. - Strong
analytical skills. - Strong English
skills, both written and verbal - Basic
knowledge on rubber or polymers is a plus. - Available to participate in development for 4
to 6 months (flexible)
