My client is looking for a Characterisation Engineer to join our growing team and play a key role in developing and implementing cutting-edge testing protocols.
Key Responsibilities as the Characterisation Engineer
- Develop robust, automated testing protocols
- Set up, configure, and maintain advanced optical and electronic testing equipment
- Perform detailed measurements of optical, electrical, and material properties of photonic devices
- Analyse test results, identify trends, and deliver feedback to improve fabrication and design processes
- Troubleshoot and optimise test setups to ensure consistent, high-quality results.
Qualifications & Skills
- Master’s or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Applied Physics, Photonics, or a related discipline
Practical experience in Photonic Device Characterisation and hands-on use of:
- Optical spectrum analysers
- Power meters
- Photodetectors
- Interferometers
- Automated probe stations
- Proficiency in Python, LabVIEW, or similar tools for data analysis and test automation.
- Strong analytical mindset and problem-solving abilities
- Clear communication and documentation skills.
